What is Videofied?

Videofied is not a CCTV surveillance system that simply records videos that are accessed by the owner. Rather, Videofied is a complete video alarm system that sends a short video clip with the alarm notification to GAC Risk Solutions Control Room for immediate review.

Videofied links the video with GAC Staff in the control room – self-surveillance does not offer this option or layer of security. Our monitored video alarm delivers quicker police dispatch

Monitoring Validation:

Videofied can be installed anywhere there is a cell signal–no need for power cords, phone lines or internet services that construction sites often lack, especially in the early stages. Since construction sites are usually uncontrolled environments, video verification is especially important to eliminate costly false alarms and deliver priority police response when there is an actual crime.

Videofied’s portability means it can be moved around as the project evolves–even if that means being installed months later at a brand new site!

Features:

  • The Outdoor MotionViewer is a battery-powered wireless camera and PIR detector infrared illuminators for true night visionInstant installation in harsh outdoor environments
  • No wires and no powerBattery powered (including panel).
The entire system operates for years on batteriesCell communication of alarm and video for immediate review and dispatch to 24
  • MotionViewers on a single cell communicator/panelMany arming options: scheduled, remote control, proximity card, cell phone 500 foot effective range between battery-powered MotionViewer and communicator/pane

During the early morning hours of 25 June, we heard a radio alert call and received an alert message on PCPF Response Group about two vehicles and a trailer that were stolen during a farm attack

We immediately responded by collaborating with Tracker in the pursuit to recover the stolen vehicles. After the vehicles were recovered we backtracked movements.

We came past a residence in the Winterveld area. At first, we passed the residence and couldn’t find any trace of the trailer or the stolen items. We turned around at the corner of the street Upon doing so we noticed 2 vehicles with at least 4 people standing outside the house given us more attention than most people, we were busy passing them when we noticed a piece of the trailer.

The only part of trailer that we re noticeable

We immediately made contact with the owner to ask about the description of the trailer. The owner did identify his trailer over the phone and it matched the description of the trailer that we saw. During this time we were busy notifying the owner, the suspects started to make a run for it. The first vehicle pulled out the yard and drove off, when the 2nd vehicle wanted to drive off we blocked his escape route. The suspect climbed out of the vehicle and ran behind the house.

We had no other choice but to wait for back-up because we were outnumbered in an unknown terrain for us. SAPS and Bidvest Protea Coin National Task Team ground units and Airwing responded within minutes of the call

We cautiously approached the house. We entered the premises and searched the property for the suspect. Upon searching for the suspect we noticed all household items in the house. We searched the house and vehicle. In the vehicle, we found a lot of female jewelry. We made contact with the owner so that he can describe all the items that were taken from them. It all matched up.

The Police immediately started with their investigation, no arrests have been made as of yet. All the stolen items were handed back to the owner

Khat or qat (Catha edulisArabic: ?????? al-qat) is a flowering plant native to the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Khat contains the alkaloid cathinone, a stimulant, which is said to cause excitement, loss of appetite, and euphoria.

Khat in powder form seems to be the most addictive form of the drug. Abuse of this drug is widespread in South Africa and especially in Cape Town. The drug addiction symptoms are much the same as when a person is addicted to other drugs such as heroin or cocaine. Khat is a stimulant drug and it is also an amphetamine

Where does KHAT grow in South-Africa?
Khat is found in woodlands and on rocky outcrops. It is scattered in KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape, mostly from the mist belt, moving inland. It is also found in the Western Cape, Mpumalanga, Swaziland, Mozambique and through to tropical Africa and the Arab countries

Is Khat illegal in South Africa?
In South Africa, Catha edulis is a protected tree. The use of khat is illegal.

  • SAPS drug awareness web-site:
  • FACT 1: DIFFERENT DRUGS CAUSE DIFFERENT FEELINGS AND PHYSICAL RESPONSES
    • Drugs such as dagga, heroin, Ecstasy, Mandrax, tik and cocaine are illegal.
    • Further, you could experience a very pleasant response to one drug, yet another drug could have a very frightening reaction B it could even kill you.
    • Like any business, the illicit drug industry is profit-driven. Therefore, drug dealers use a variety of substances to cut drugs.
    • Some of these substances may be more harmful than the drug itself.
    • The drug you are offered tomorrow may look the same as the drug you were offered yesterday, but you can never be certain of what it contains.
    • The only way to be sure that you do not ingest it is to avoid taking drugs in the first place!
    • Drugs can be swallowed (pills), smoked, inhaled or injected.
    • You can never anticipate the effect that drugs will have on you.
    • It is a mistake to think that experience increases your tolerance levels or that nothing will happen to you if you take a drug that you have used before.
    • It is a well-known fact that seasoned drug addicts often die of an overdose.
    • Drug addiction seduces you into wanting more and different and stronger drugs, against your will and the natural tolerance of your body.
    • No matter how good you may feel when using drugs, your body suffers. Drugs are dangerous.
    • If you take drugs, you are at great risk of becoming addicted.

UPPERS
(Cocaine, Ecstasy, Speed, Crack-Cocaine, Tik)

  • Uppers are designed to make you feel great. They make you feel alive, dynamic, and energized.
  • Depending on your personal response to the drug, you could, however, also feel anxious, nervous and paranoid. You could even die.
  • Uppers put a terrible strain on the heart. Long-term use destroys your nerves, takes away your appetite and causes sleeplessness.
  • You will end up taking a downer as your body suffers withdrawal symptoms when the drug wears off.
  • You will feel depressed and, sometimes, suicidal.

DOWNERS (Dagga, Heroin, Mandrax)

  • Downers make you feel relaxed or laid back.
    • Unfortunately, you cannot control just how relaxed you will be.
    • Long-term use of downers causes lethargy and makes it harder for you to do the things you need to do as a functional member of society.
    • Schoolchildren and students who use these drugs find it hard to study or complete assignments, and relationships inevitably suffer.
    • Too much of a powerful downer like heroin, causes the systems of the body to shut down, eventually leading to death.

HALLUCINOGENS (LSD, mescaline)

  • These drugs cause powerful hallucinations or dreams in which your reality is changed.
  • You cannot predict whether the dream will be enjoyable or be a hideous nightmare.
  • A Abad trip@ can haunt you for the rest of your life, with flashbacks occurring at any time.
  • FACT 2: DIFFERENT PEOPLE RESPOND DIFFERENTLY TO THE SAME DRUGS
    • Drugs cause different reactions in different people.
    • Never take a drug based on someone else=s reported experience of using that drug.
    • Never persuade someone else to take a drug based on your own experience of using it.

  • FACT 3: THE MORE DRUGS YOU TAKE, THE MORE YOU NEED.
    • The first time you take a drug, you will probably experience an exhilarating high.
    • As your body becomes used to the drug, you will need more and more of it to experience the same intense reaction.
    • This increasing tolerance to a drug is actually a growing addiction.
    • Addiction comes with a big price tag.
    • The more drugs you want, the more money you need to feed the habit.
    • Drugs are expensive and their effect on you makes it unlikely that you will be able to earn enough money to afford them.
    • Some drug addicts turn to crime and other high-risk behaviour.
    • Many are arrested and go to prison.
    • Others turn to prostitution and live tragic and tainted lives, and almost inevitably die young.
    • Some people take drugs for a while and then manage to escape before they become addicts or before irreparable harm is done.
    • It is not weak people who become drug addicts, its drug addicts who become weak people.
    • No addict takes that first drug believing that he or she will become addicted.
    • All addicts start out believing that they could give up drugs any time they wanted to.
    • Every addict is sad proof of how wrong that belief is.
  • FACT 4: LIFE IS TOUGH ENOUGH BUT DRUGS ONLY MAKE IT TOUGHER
    • When you feel that you cannot cope with life’s challenges, you may feel tempted to take a drug to make you feel vibrant and confident, or to change your sense of reality B even if only for a short while.
    • Instant gratification, a sense of peace, a wonderful trip, or a feeling of power B all these things you are promised by those who offer you drugs.
    • Such persons often describe the effects of drugs in glowing terms. But they do not tell you that you cannot control your response to a drug.
    • When you feel that you cannot cope with life=s challenges, you may feel tempted to take a drug to make you feel vibrant and confident, or to change your sense of reality B even if only for a short while.
    • Instant gratification, a sense of peace, a wonderful trip, or a feeling of power B all these things you are promised by those who offer you drugs.
    • Such persons often describe the effects of drugs in glowing terms. But they do not tell you that you cannot control your response to a drug.
    • The more you like a drug, the more you will want it and eventually you will become addicted.
    • When the drug wears off, reality will still be there with all the problems from which you were trying to escape.
    • Uppers make you need downers and a combination of the two can kill you.
    • Drugs let you lose control, which, in turn, makes you lose the ability to do certain things (for instance, to drive your car).
    • However tempting it may be, using drugs to take a break from reality will not make your problems disappear or make life better.
    • If you feel that things are spiraling out of control and you are overwhelmed by problems, seek real help from someone who cares.
    • People who try to sell you drugs are not interested in your well-being.
    • You may already have used drugs and you may be scared of becoming addicted.
    • But remember: No matter how much trouble you think you will be in if you ask for help, you will be in worse trouble if you do not.

Koos Snr se eerste woorde was “Hulle het my tande uitgeslaan”. Koos Snr. is ‘n baie gelukkige man, vertel die beamtes. Gedurende die aanval het die verdagtes ‘n skoot afgevuur, maar Koos Snr. was gelukkig nie getref nie.

“Koos Snr. jy is ‘n yster!

GAC received information about a farm attack that is being planned on one of our clients in a rural farmland area on the Northern parts of Pretoria

Through our years of knowledge, we knew that an attack like this must have inside information in order for it to succeed.

– Most farm attacks are inside jobs, although not all farmworkers are involved in these attacks directly. In most cases, it would be a person who is closest to the farmer –

We advised our client that all of his employees must be polygraphed tested.
The client gave the go-ahead and all employees were tested. The test took a while but it was worth the while for the owner. The test results were really mind-blowing(Due to the sensitivity of the case and legal contracts we cannot provide in-depth information into this matter)

We managed to single out the masterminds for the operation through the polygraph test results. The results were handed over to SAPS for further investigations.GAC investigators will work hand in hand with SAPS to investigate the matter further.

Through this joint effort by GAC and SAPS no attack took place

CAMO – Camouflage
It is used in the disguising of personnel, equipment, and installations by painting or covering them to make them blend in with their surroundings

Nowadays, Camouflage clothing is a modern fashion statement and is easily accessible from stores. The majority of people that wears camo wouldn’t even know where to apply the pattern that they are wearing in a real-life threat situation

Camouflaging can be seen as the art of deception or as a form of protection. The most basic way of camouflaging yourself is to make certain that you don’t stick out like a sore thumb, by wearing clothing that has the same color or colors as the area where you operate in.

THE BASICS BEHIND CAMOUFLAGING:

SHAPE
SHADOW
SHINE
SILHOUETTE
SPACING
MOVEMENT

By mastering the above-mentioned basics, you will not only improve your camouflage skills but also enhance your chance of survival if you are in a threat situation seeking cover

Picture is for illustration purposes only

During this Covid-19 lockdown, life isn’t easy, employees and employers are both taking huge financial losses for something that is out of their control. With South-Africa having one of the highest rates of industrial and civil unrest actions and its strikes being well known for its violence, it’s only a matter of time before GAC will be deployed again.

GAC urge all business owners that it must be in every business’s need to be properly prepared for these types of unrest that occur more frequently nowadays.

-Mass actions can not only financially damage any company with regards to property damage, personal injury and production loss, but can also cause serious damage to an established brand and the way the public perceive that brand globally-

-SA should brace for social unrest in the coming months, study finds-

https://rekordeast.co.za/lnn/1101731/sa-should-brace-for-social-unrest-in-coming-months-study-finds The SRI 2020 identifies South Africa as highly vulnerable to social unrest in the next 18 monthThe country is placed 79th out of 102 in the assessment.

GAC strongly believes that the use of force, including non-lethal force, is our last resort. Instead of trying to “beat” the rioters in battle, we develop non-invasive measures to counter-steer all actions that can lead to violence.

Our strategy is not to face the rioters, but rather to safeguard our client’s belongings, building structures, employees and most important of all the companies (clients) name and reputation.
